Northampton Family Acupuncture

Hi! I’m Nora. I am a nationally board-certified Acupuncturist licensed to practice in the state of MA. I graduated from the New England School of Acupuncture with a Masters in both Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. During my training I completed clinical internships at Boston Medical Center, Cambridge Health Alliance and MCPHS University. My academic and clinical interests include acute and chronic pain, anxiety and depression, menstrual irregularities/ women’s health, headaches/migraines, gastrointestinal disorders, immunity and Chinese dietary therapy. I am particularly interested in the intersection between traditional Chinese medicine and biomedicine.

I am also an herbalist, an educator, a mother and a partner. 

I love my work as an Acupuncturist because it allows me to use my skills as a listener and a healer to bring people closer to themselves: to inhabit their bodies with more freedom and less pain. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Intellectual History from Lafayette College. Before becoming an Acupuncturist I worked in education: as a naturalist, environmental educator, farm educator and community organizer. In my work as an outdoor educator I grew to love native plants and developed an interest in plant medicine. That love led me to Western MA where I worked for Acupuncturist and herbalist William Siff, L.Ac (Goldthread Herbal Apothecary) - making medicine. When my daughters entered school - I decided to take the plunge and go back to school myself. Studying Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine has been an extraordinary journey and a source of endless fascination. I treat a wide variety of conditions and use my years of experience as an educator, a mother, a partner and an herbalist to inform my work. 

When I don’t have my nose in an Acupuncture textbook you can find me drinking coffee and reading novels, poetry, science fiction and the travel section of the NY times.

Nora practices acupuncture and Chinese medicine at CLINIC Tuesdays 9am- 3pm and Thursdays 3- 9pm. You can see her prices here.
